I don’t do a lot of these, but there’s a lot going on right now, so here we go.
First, most everyone has probably seen that Shattered Honor is available for preorder…and it has a cover! Excuse me while I drool over it a bit more here:
I’m so in love with how it turned out, and if you’re interested, you can order the ebook here for release on June 18. Yes, the paperback will be available that day, too!
As for the fourth Shadows of War book, Faded Embers is fully drafted, but I’m struggling to find beta readers. I’d hoped to have it released later this year, but it seems the best I can hope for right now is the winter, at the very earliest. I’ll update if that changes!
I’m not idle as far as writing goes, though. Some of you may know that I once considered making the end of the Asrian Skies pretty dark – that, of course, did not happen, but the idea has stuck with me, even a few years later. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, until the solution randomly came to me last month.
I could write that story in a difference universe, with different characters.
That intended short story (ha!) is now 131 pages, and though I’m not sure if I can ever share it (it has clear roots in Avery & Chase fanfic), I’m having a blast writing it and dreaming about the cover I want. And because no story would be complete without some aesthetic creation procrastination, I’ve got one of those to share with you as well:
Anyway, it’s weird and dark and the perfect break from revising Faded Embers. I hope I can make it readable one day!
One last thing: I plan to do another blog entry upon Shattered Honor‘s release answering your questions about my writing process, characters, and world. Leave them in the comments or shoot me an email, and I’ll do my best to answer them all.
Thanks for sticking with me on this one!
