On June 4, 2016 (as best I can find), I wrote the first words to the story that would become Asrian Skies. I didn’t know anything except there was a story trying to force itself out of my brain.
I had no idea.
I had no idea that two years later, I’d have written 298,000+ words, 3 novels, and the start of even more short stories and novellas.
Or that I’d be on the cusp of self-publishing my second book.
I didn’t know that my third book would be first draft complete.
I also didn’t know about the dark side of writing–the bullying and trolls and mean girls.
But I also had no idea of the joys of beta reading and critiquing my CP’s book.
I had no idea that Asrian Skies’s antagonist would develop a small but intense cult following, or that people would randomly approach me wanting a signed paperback, or that readers would be anxiously waiting for Unbroken Fire (and even wanting more).
All in two short years.
It’s been a ride. I still don’t know where I go from here, but I’m so grateful to the ones who’ve made it it all possible so far.

So. Many. Feels. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congrats on two years of writing!! 😘
Can’t wait to hold Unbroken Fire in my hands. (I’ll consider it an early two-year CP anniversary gift 😉)
Thanks for sharing your experience, Anne. You’re an inspiration to me as a fierce female sci-fi novelist and I hope you keep writing long after you finish this series. 💕
