Whoa, is it really time for the annual recap? I suppose time flies and crawls at the same time when you’re basically stuck in your house, huh? Anyway, in the second year of my suspended life, I:
– published Queen’s Crown, the final novella in my low fantasy trilogy
– combined the three novellas into one book and released it as Crownkeeper
– finished the first draft of The Brightest Void
– attended Realm Makers in-person in St. Louis (yay!)
– won a Realm Award for Treason’s Crown (um, what?!)
So, while I keep telling myself I don’t have much to show for this year, I suppose that’s not really the truth (though yes, I am going to argue that all the work for Treason’s Crown really took place in 2020). The Brightest Void has been a thorn in my side for a few years ago, but I think I’m finally finding my feet in that world.
What’s new for 2022?
Shadow of War is returning! I’m hopeful the entire series will be available in January in February. At this point I’m only waiting on my proofreader, so as soon as he’s done and I can find a few spare hours, it’ll republished.
Hardbacks for Shadows of War are coming! It’s on my short list, but I’m hoping to have that done in the first half of the year.
Realm Makers 2022 is up in the air for me. Total bummer, since it’s the tenth anniversary, but I’m not hopeful New Jersey will have dropped restrictions by July. Maybe 2023?
The Brightest Void is with a few beta readers now, but I have the cover art, which I’m thrilled about sharing when the time comes.
And that’s about it!
